City of Anna Maria Visitor Information
The State of Florida, Manatee County and the City of Anna Maria are currently under a declared state of emergency due to COVID-19 (Corona Virus). The city has received numerous requests for information regarding the advisability of visiting or vacationing in Anna Maria.
Listed below are items to consider prior to planning your visit to the City of Anna Maria:
Beaches – As you know, we are currently under a directive of closing all of the City of Anna Maria beaches. Effective immediately, although our beaches remain closed to the general public, they are open to residents and their guests while practicing safe social distancing. There are sheriff deputies as well as city and county code enforcement officers posted at many beach access points to enforce and clarify this position. Restricted parking regulations in select locations will take effect as soon as adequate signage is available.
Restaurants - 3/20/20 - Gov. DeSantis orders closure of all dine-in restaurants and gyms. He has issued Executive Order 20-71 temporarily suspending all dining in and consumption of alcohol at restaurants in the state of Florida. Restaurant's kitchens will still be allowed to operate for the purposes of delivery or take-out business only.
In addition, all gymnasiums and fitness centers are ordered to close.
Food, groceries, supplies etc. – The only large supermarket on the island (Publix) has had daily shortages of food, beverages and other supplies. The shortages of food and other supplies at the supermarket has created an inconvenience for both residents and visitors alike.
Please take this information into consideration prior to planning a visit or vacation to our city.
