Code Enforcement Division
Code Enforcement is a service provided by the City to ensure compliance with City Ordinances and Land Use Regulations. While providing for the overall health, safety, and welfare of the community, the City's Code Enforcement officer’s focus is to assist all citizens with maintaining community standards.
Our officers' first priority is to help residents achieve compliance with these standards, but if you do receive a violation notice, we recommend that you seek guidance for correcting the violation from the Code Enforcement Officer and/or contact the Building Department at (941) 708-6132 ext. 25.
Violation(s) are to be abated in an expeditious manner in order to avoid any fines and/or liens. If prompt action is not taken to correct violation(s), you may be subject to fines, Code Enforcement Board proceedings, and legal action.
The Code Enforcement Board Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of the Month at 7:00 p.m. as needed in the City Hall Commission Chambers.
